Last night was the annual Billboard Music Awards- which takes place every year in Las Vegas. Taylor Swift and Maroon 5 were both huge contestants, each nominated in 11 categories. What Lady Lux was concerned with, however, was what everyone was wearing! Award shows and big red carpets like the Billboard Music Awards are always great inspiration for us when styling our designer swimwear as well as picking out which styles are on trend. We saw a few trends we loved- from jewel tones to summer hues, the red (or actually blue) carpet was full of some great styles, as well as some not so great… Here are a few of our favorites.

Taylor Swift has recently been nailing red carpet after red carpet. She’s blossomed from a conservative teenager into a sexy starlet. Lately she’s been wearing shorter hems, lower necklines, and sexy cutouts- all of which are done tastefully, of course, and not all at once… Last night she rocked a royal blue micro mini dress which showed off the singers best asset- her statuesque legs. We absolutely loved the sapphire blue color of the dress, which gave us inspiration for other similar jewel tones such as the aquamarine Paradise bandeau, the amethyst purple of the Unforgettable bikini, and the pink sapphire color of the Pretty Young Thing bikini.

Black is a color that’s considered a staple for many women’s wardrobes. It’s a color that can easily go from fab to drab- based on the cut of the style as well as how you accessorize it. Emmy Rossum looked amazing in her black, floor-length gown with the use of sexy cutouts with sheer paneling. Not only did the cutouts flatter and accentuate her shape, but they were done tastefully, without being too risque. Bikinis are the same way. Truly, Madly, Deeply and Pretty Young Thing are both classic black bikinis with a twist. Their gold hardware gives them an extra feeling of glamour- defining them as luxury swimwear.

Summer is fast approaching- which is one of the reasons we loved Renee Bargh’s bright summer hue on her dress. The fun coral color coordinated perfectly with her glowing tan, which was made complete with her beachy waves. Still The One features not one, but two fun summer colors in a youthful tie-dye pattern. Other great summer-y options include Call On Me, which features tons of bright colors in a fun chevron pattern, as well as Melt Away, whose bright coral and turquoise colors get you in a playful mood for the season!

Other great starlets who displayed great style include Selena Gomez, Jennifer Morrison (who also rocked a sexy black dress with sheer paneling), and Jennifer Lopez. We can’t wait for the next red carpet!

Selena Gomez is, no doubt, an up-and-coming Hollywood A-Lister. She began her career with Disney Channel, which sky-rocketed the young starlet to fame, but has continued to stay on the entertainment scene even after her career with Disney has come to a close. She’s recently blossomed into a style icon as well, and here at Lady Lux- we’re loving it. While she’s often pictured in sexy luxury swimwear, we figured we would feature some of our favorite patterns she’s been spotted in. Then, we’ll show you how to get Selena’s look using your own designer swimwear.

Selena’s first look features one of our favorite patterns for spring- floral. While Selena’s floral pattern features a lot of oranges and greens, Lady Lux wanted to brighten up the look with bright pinks and aqua- which screams springtime to us. The Secret Escape Dress has a similar breezy, casual look that Selena’s dress has. If you’re just looking for a standard swimsuit, however, you can opt for either the Floral Fantasy bandeau or the Secret Escape bikini- both of which feature the same lively pattern as the Secret Escape Dress. Overall, Selena’s look is kept minimal, with light makeup and swept back hair. Accessorize with beachy wedge sandals like Selena’s and throw on a sexy long necklace too. If you’re feeling daring- try a body chain for a similar, even sexier option instead of the long necklace!

The second look of Selena’s is definitely more of a sexy, nightclub ensemble. The sexy bustier top is completed with a black skirt with a thigh-high slit. For a similar sexy graphic pattern and cut- try the She’s Got A Way bikini. The sexy pattern is completed with gold hardware, which is reminiscent of the gold stitching in Selena’s bustier. The pattern also comes in a monokini- Love Bound. To complete your look, layer on a maxi skirt similar to Selena’s for walking around poolside. Dramatic eye makeup and bedhead waves will finish off the sexy, nightlife look.

Jennifer Lopez has been on the pop culture scene for many years now. From her days as a dancer on “In Living Color”, to her early days as a pop star, to breaking into Hollywood as a leading actress in films such as “Maid in Manhattan” and “The Wedding Planner”, to now headlining world tours and starring as a judge on American Idol- there seems to be nothing slowing her down. Her style is ever-evolving and here at Lady Lux, we are loving witnessing the star’s style transformation. It has evolved from “girl from the Bronx” street style to true Hollywood icon glam. We love taking tips from Jennifer’s sense of style when completing our designer swimwear looks- so here are a few of our favorites.

Although basic, there’s a reason black is considered a staple in every wardrobe. Black is a classic color that does wonders for almost any body type, skin color, or hair color. The black dress that Jennifer recently wore to the Grammy’s was just that. A simple black color- amped up with sex appeal, much like the Truly, Madly, Deeply bikini by Lady Lux. The overall silhouette of Jennifer’s dress is so simple and so classic, but the sky-high slit adds a sexy edge to the cut. Truly, Madly, Deeply is a classic bikini, but the hardware and luxurious materials make the suit sexy and glam.

This pink look of Jennifer’s follows the same principles of her black dress above, yet turns it up a notch with the stunning pink color. Overall, the dress is classically cut, much like the Melt Away bikini. The bright pink color is eye-catching and adds both youthful and fun elements to the bikini as well as the dress. We also love how Jennifer kept her entire look simple by brushing her hair back from her face in a sleek ponytail. A great idea for the pool- when lounging in the hot sun in your luxury swimwear!

The last look of Jennifer’s that we loved was definitely more casual than the previous two looks. This striped dress of hers is, again, a classic look. The angled stripes are very reminiscent of the Ready Or Naut bikini. Stripes can be a difficult pattern to conquer, but by throwing them on at an angle- you’ll actually be doing yourself and your body a favor. The stripes on Ready Or Not actually bring the eye in to the cute little bow at the center. With stripes- follow Jennifer’s lead by keeping the rest of your look simple and toned down. You don’t want to compete with your cute striped bikini!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is not only gorgeous, but she also is known for her great sense of style that seems to be ever-evolving. Whether she’s in a T-shirt and jeans, edgy leather, or breezy bohemian prints- she seems to know how to style herself well. She is often seen wearing some of the best designer swimwear, but we wanted to focus on her day-to-day style and show you how to achieve the model’s look with your own luxury swimwear.

It may be hard to stand out as much as a high-fashion model does when she walks down the street- but with fun bohemian prints on your sexy Lady Lux Swimwear, you’ll definitely get heads turning. We love this bohemian look of Rosie’s. It’s a fun, bohemian pattern kept simple with the rest of her look. Similar in the colors as well as the style, Crazy For You has the same effect that Rosie’s look does. The bright colors in the pattern are unique and unlike a lot of other swimwear. Keep the rest of your look simple in order to not compete with your swimwear by pairing it with a camel-colored leather bag and shoes (to match the trim on the bikini).

Rosie likes to mix up her look and throw in some super edgy style choices from time to time. This black and white look does just that. The look is edgy without losing the femininity or becoming too intimidating. The Drive Me Wild monokini does just that. The sexy cutouts keeps the femininity while the tougher leather details as well as the  snakeskin pattern gives it just a bit of an edge. Make sure to keep your hair and makeup soft when styling this look- such as Rosie did. Too harsh/bold makeup will toughen your look up and make it a bit too edgy for the pool or beach.

For a youthful look that’s perfect for the transition into summer, we loved Rosie’s brightly colored tie-dye tunic. The colors are fun and the style is youthful. For a fun tie-dye with colors similar to Rosie’s tunic, we opted for the Still The One bikini. For this look, it’s okay to keep your whole ensemble bold- right down to your jewelry, shoes and accessories. To keep it youthful, however, keep your makeup fresh and light to avoid looking too harsh (which will, in turn, age you).

Whether your style is bohemian or edgy- Rosie shows you that it’s okay to mix up your looks from time to time! Just remember to stay true to yourself and what you like, taking only inspiration from your favorite celebrities.

The words sexy, daring, and feminine are often used to describe actress Megan Fox. While it’s true, her wardrobe ranges from casual sweats and t-shirts, to ultra-glam, to wearing next to nothing- her red carpet style is always spot-on. She manages to pull off a look that’s always super sexy, without becoming classless. Everything from her hair, to her makeup, to her shoes is styled to perfection. We pulled some of our favorite red carpet looks of hers, which also inspires us to switch up our designer swimwear look to mimic Megan’s super sexy red carpet looks.

This purple dress that Megan wore to a red carpet event is easily one of our favorites. Not only does the color look phenomenal on her perfectly tanned skin, but the styling of her hair and makeup is spot on as well. She exudes a Greek-goddess vibe with her perfectly tousled curls. The look is easily achievable with the Unforgettable bikini from Lady Lux. Add in a great tan and give yourself some sexy curls and you’ll be ready to hit the beach a la Megan Fox.

Megan pulled off yet another Greek-goddess look with this all-white dress. The dress is so simple and basic- similar to the Truly, Madly, Deeply bikini from Lady Lux. It leaves plenty of flexibility when it comes to styling your hair and makeup. To get Megan’s sleek goddess look, pull the hair back away from your beautiful face (making sure your makeup is spot-on). This look works great for a day at the pool because it keeps your hair off your face, keeping both your makeup and hair looking great.

For an ultra-feminine look- go for an ultra-feminine color such as pink or coral. The Pretty Young Thing bikini in coral looks so similar to this coral dress of Megan’s, and the color is stunning. The added gold detail to the luxury swimwear gives it even more femininity, similar to how the draping in Megan’s dress adds femininity and sex appeal.

To complete your Megan Fox look, make sure you hit the gym. The starlet works out with a personal trainer at least three times a week. You don’t need a personal trainer, however, to mimic Megan’s workout. She spends 30 minutes doing cardio, and finishes out with 30-45 minutes of more intense exercise such as Pilates or cycling.

The annual star-studded Met Gala took place in New York City last night. From movie stars to models, everyone who was anyone seemed to make an appearance. With the theme of last night’s event being “Punk: Chaos to Couture”, we were sure to get an eyeful of some interesting ensembles. While some stars decided to tame down the “punk” theme, others went all out. Either way, we loved looking at some of the recurring trends from last night and thinking about how to carry those over to our designer swimwear.

One of our favorite looks of the night had to have been Miranda Kerr. While it’s true, Kerr looks amazing in just about anything she wears, she really pulled off her Michael Kors dress with ease and sophistication. The cutout trend seems to be huge for this current season. Whether you choose to rock that trend with a monokini like Love Bound or Drive Me Wild, you’ll be sure to nail it. Another trend Kerr is implying? The bandeau! Bandeau’s layered under cutout t-shirts or blouses are a great way to add some extra color or sparkle to your look. Fun bandeau‘s like Paradise and Heartless 2013 are great options to use when layering your look.

Another favorite of ours was Jessica Alba, who wore a gorgeous Tory Burch dress. The dress was leather and featured smaller, feminine cutouts as well as two larger, and more bold cutouts. We loved the overall effect of the pattern, similar to the Sipping Pretty bikini and monokini. Leather is also huge for this season, which is one of the many reasons we love the leather accents on luxury swimwear such as Drive Me Wild, Crazy For You, and Call On Me.

Being a punk theme, the color of choice seemed to be black (for obvious reasons). Black is a great, classic color. Jennifer Lawrence’s dress took classic to the next level. Her Christian Dior dress paid great homage to Old Hollywood starlets, while the color added to the “punk” feel. Black is always a great option, especially when it comes to your designer swimwear. Choices like Pretty Young Thing and Truly, Madly, Deeply are great staples to have in your wardrobe.

Who were some of your favorites from the Gala last night?

The fabulous 44 year old is in her tip top shape and looks svelte wearing a fuchsia bikini that highlighted her golden skin.  I can’t wait for her and Justin Theroux to get together and made some babies. Their babies will be born with some six pack abs probably.  Wearing bright colors makes your skin glow and Lady Lux gives presents Melt Away in that fabulous girly glow.   This is the must have luxury swimwear hue for that sexy summer day.

Yoga is awesome to get you that stretched out look to make you lean and long.  It gives you that long torso and those muscles that can beat the lactic acid build up.  Pack on a healthy diet and be consistent.  Don’t be scared if you slip just get back up and select a workout plan and stick to it.  Even Jennifer has cheat days and her chosen treat is: Mexican food.  Delicious!  Keep it in moderation so you can rock your designer swimwear bod.

From florals to pastels, there are so many great spring trends that are so youthful and fresh- it definitely puts you in the appropriate mood for the season. Taylor Swift is just one of the young starlets out there who seems to always look youthful and fresh- not just in her designer swimwear, but in her day-to-day routine. We love the colors that are trending for this season- lavender and coral. Not only has Taylor been seen wearing these shades numerous times, but we’ll show you how to get the look with Lady Lux Swimwear.

Despite her notorious “bad girl” image, there’s no denying that Rihanna is a remarkably stunning girl. The Barbados beauty has skin that’s always glowing and a style that’s all her own. We love how often Rihanna is spotted at the beach or by the pool, always sporting the hottest trends in designer swimwear. With a body like hers- she always manages to look amazing whether she’s lounging poolside or hitting up the jet-skis off the coast of her home country. We pulled some of our favorite spring trends that the singer has been pictured in- and show you how to get the look using your Lady Lux swimwear.

Prints are huge for spring. Whether it’s stripes, polka dots, florals, or chevron- if you’re wearing a pattern, you’re most likely on trend for spring. Lady Lux especially loves florals for spring because it shows off the season’s best attribute- flowers! Rihanna was photographed wearing a multicolored floral bandeau very similar to the Lady Lux Floral Fantasy bandeau. Our next favorite trend is actually a color- turquoise. Turquoise is one of those rare shades that’s flattering on virtually any skin tone.
