Katy Perry is definitely known for her eccentric style and quirky choices in prints and accessories. She has a style that’s all her own and definitely rises on best-dressed lists year after year. Here at Lady Lux, we have two favorite trends that she is very often spotted in- florals and patriotic/nautical. She adds her own pop princess flair to these trends each time she’s spotted in them and we want to show you how to do the same using your designer swimwear.

Floral prints are almost every girls best friend when it comes to looking feminine and flirty. Katy loves her florals too, but adds a certain edge to them when wearing them through her use of the print and the way she accessorizes it. To get the look with your luxury swimwear, we suggest More Than A Feeling. The pink and black floral is feminine but still edgy- similar to Katy’s looks. If you aren’t into the black, brighter options such as Secret Escape and Floral Fantasy can be used. Patriotism has never looked so good! Patriotic inspired looks have been huge the past few seasons. Jennifer Aniston is a great example of a hollywood A-Lister that just doesn’t quit. From making her big debut in the 90′s as Rachel on “Friends”, to starring in blockbuster hit after blockbuster hit- she’s a woman that will be in the public eye for years to come. Men want to date her, women want her fit physique, and luxury swimwear companies such as Lady Lux want to dress her. Although she’s already approaching her mid-40′s, the woman looks just as youthful as she did back on “Friends”. When it comes to fashion, she tends to take on more basic silhouettes and what some would call “safe” options. If Lady Lux had the option to dress Jennifer for the beach, here is what we would put her in.

When it comes to dressing up for more formal events, Jennifer loves to keep it simple and stick to muted colors most of the time with minimal accessories. Designer swimwear such as Truly, Madly, Deeply and Pretty Young Thing are great options. Both have basic color palettes and minimal hardware. The hardware that is there, however, spices up the suit and gives it that extra sparkle- to brighten up what would otherwise be a plain black or white suit. Personally, I think the white Truly, Madly, Deeply suit would look great on Aniston. Her tan skin and toned figure creates the perfect combination to be able to pull off a white suit such as this one.

In contrast, every once in a while Jennifer is spotted in a super-bright pop of color on the red carpet (note: this is very rare). Nevertheless, we love when she does this. The silhouettes are still kept simple and the accessories still  toned down, but the hues are turned all the way up. Most often she’s spotted in shades of red and orange (such as the dresses above), but we think she would look great in a royal purple bikini such as Unforgettable. The color would pop against her sandy blonde hair beautifully. To stick with her “safe” color palette, we also think she would look great in Pretty Young Thing in coral. The coral color is what she’s used to working with and the solid is easy to wear. Both Unforgettable and Pretty Young Thing have some gold hardware, but are overall basic suits- something Jennifer is comfortable with. The gold hardware just gives it that edge needed to glam up her look for the beach!

Red carpets are always so great to style and trend watch on your favorite celebrities. Award shows like the CFDA Awards (the Council of Fashion Designers of America) are even better because they bring the best of the best when it comes to fashion. The most stylish celebrities, the hottest designers, and the sexiest models all walk the red carpet at this annual event. So many stars were on point with their red carpet fashions this year, it was hard to select our favorite trends. But a few definitely stood out- so here they are.

Whoever said “a little sparkle goes a long way” clearly hasn’t taken a look at these beautiful women. Head-to-toe sparkle commands attention and adds a glam-factor to an otherwise basic dress. White can be a difficult color to pull off, which is why it seemed to be the color of choice for the supermodels at the CFDA Awards. Cutouts seem to be a trend that just doesn’t want to die. It’s been huge all through spring and it’s starting to transition just as strongly into summer. It’s a great option if you want to add sex appeal to your look without being obvious. That concept is similar to swimwear. If you’re looking for a sexy option without being too obvious or revealing, try a monokini! The cutouts follow the hot trend that we’re seeing so often on the red carpet. With options like Love Bound, Heaven Can’t Wait, and Drive Me Wild- there’s sure to be something that suits your style!

Hayden Panettiere is one of those starlets who’s slowly, but surely, creeping up the Hollywood status ladder. She’s starred in the hit television show “Heroes” and now leads the hugely popular show “Nashville” on ABC. It’s only a matter of time before the star makes her debut as a full-fledged Hollywood A-Lister. We’ve been monitoring the blonde beauty’s wardrobe for a while now. While she tends to stick to basics (black/white, t-shirt and jeans) while out and about throughout the day, she revs it up when she goes glam. Gone is the basic black, white, and denim and in walks a whole new starlet- complete with bright colors and fun patterns. Just because she’s rocking the bright colors and fun patterns in her evening gowns, doesn’t mean you can’t transfer that style over to your designer swimwear!

Our favorite color on Hayden as well as our favorite color trending for summer is coral. Hayden seems to love pairing the shade with a fun, youthful cut dress. Vibrant patterns are another great way to stand out at the pool or beach. Stripes are huge for spring and will probably be trending again for summer. Kendall Jenner (the half sister of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe) is a stunning 17 year old on the fast track to becoming one of the top models in the world. Not only that, but she has fans who are constantly watching her every move through her social media outlets like Instagram (of which she has well over 5 million followers). Because of that, we pulled some of our favorite Instagram posts from the starlet, showcasing her great taste in clothing and styling. Chevron is a pattern that seems to be popping up everywhere this season. From fingernails to pillows, walls to clothing, it’s a pattern that just doesn’t quit. Kendall was spotted wearing the print in black and white on a strapless peplum top. Our Crazy For You and Call On Me bikinis both feature the print- but in fun colors such as purple, turquoise and orange. The bright colors make the print friendlier for summer- which is fast approaching!

In this Instagram post, Kendall showed on a tiny bit of her top. The small bit that we could see, however, looked so similar to Secret Escape, we just had to include it! The ruffles on the floral luxury swimwear makes it even more feminine, which is great for not only spring, but also summer! This style of top would be great to layer underneath a strapless top to show off the floral pattern and ruffle detailing on the trim.

The turquoise dress that Kendall snapped a pic of caught our attention immediately. Not only does the color look gorgeous on her, but the simplicity of the cut doesn’t distract from the beautiful color. Similar to that, the Paradise bandeau follows the same concepts. The turquoise color has a slight shimmer to it- creating a beautiful shine in the sunlight. The cut of the swimsuit is understated and simple, with not a lot of extra details to distract from the gorgeous color. We would love to see how beautiful Kendall would look in this suit!

Jennifer Lawrence has gone from an up-and-coming teen star to a full-fledged Hollywood A-Lister seemingly overnight. Her style choices are often fairly safe, but elegantly classic. She chooses classic silhouettes that flatter her curves and shape to perfection. While not all of us may be able to pull off some of the silhouettes she’s so often seen in (i.e. the Dior stunner from the Oscar’s), it definitely is possible to take inspiration from her color choices.

Bright teal is one of our favorite colors for the season. The Paradise bandeau is not only similar to the teal dress Jennifer was spotted in, but the slight shimmer in the fabric adds an extra touch of glamour. Add in the aqua jewelry at the center as well as each hip and the swimsuit screams luxury swimwear. The color is also fairly easy to pull off for a few different skin tones. If you haven’t quite gotten the tan you’ve been hoping for yet, the color isn’t so bright that it washes you out. If you’re lucky enough to sport a beautiful golden tan, the bright color bounces off the tan and really pops.

While black may not be a “bright hue”, it’s a popular color choice for designer swimwear lovers across the board. It also (believe it or not) is a hard color to pull off while still managing to stand out. Jennifer Lawrence shows us a great way to wear the color- with some perfectly placed cutouts. The cutouts keep the color youthful and will ensure that you still stand out at the pool or beach. Sexy monokinis like Love Bound are a great option when trying to achieve that cutout effect. Otherwise, you could go for a sexy basic black bikini such as Truly, Madly, Deeply with extra detail like the gold hardware on the straps.

For this photo shoot, she paired a royal purple top with a burnt orange pencil skirt- a risky combination that really stood out. The color of her top is a showstopper, similar to Unforgettable. To achieve Jennifer’s look, pair the purple suit with some orange jewelry and accessories. A good tip- when looking to accessorize with opposite colors than what you’re wearing, shoot for complimentary colors (or colors opposite from one another on the color wheel) and then go one or two shades to the right or left to avoid looking like a school mascot (who often choose complimentary colors).

This past week has been one of the most-watched red carpets of the year to date, the annual Cannes Film Festival. One of our favorite trends we saw was the black and white color blocking. The hottest young starlets seemed to favor this trend. When you have a rocking physique and a beautiful face, why distract from that with a loud print or color? Jennifer Lawrence was absolutely stunning in her black and white Dior dress, which she paired perfectly with a effortless hairstyle and a punch of red in her lipstick. Last night was the annual Billboard Music Awards- which takes place every year in Las Vegas. Taylor Swift and Maroon 5 were both huge contestants, each nominated in 11 categories. What Lady Lux was concerned with, however, was what everyone was wearing! Award shows and big red carpets like the Billboard Music Awards are always great inspiration for us when styling our designer swimwear as well as picking out which styles are on trend. We saw a few trends we loved- from jewel tones to summer hues, the red (or actually blue) carpet was full of some great styles, as well as some not so great… Here are a few of our favorites.

Taylor Swift has recently been nailing red carpet after red carpet. She’s blossomed from a conservative teenager into a sexy starlet. Lately she’s been wearing shorter hems, lower necklines, and sexy cutouts- all of which are done tastefully, of course, and not all at once… Last night she rocked a royal blue micro mini dress which showed off the singers best asset- her statuesque legs. We absolutely loved the sapphire blue color of the dress, which gave us inspiration for other similar jewel tones such as the aquamarine Paradise bandeau, the amethyst purple of the Unforgettable bikini, and the pink sapphire color of the Pretty Young Thing bikini.

Black is a color that’s considered a staple for many women’s wardrobes. It’s a color that can easily go from fab to drab- based on the cut of the style as well as how you accessorize it. Emmy Rossum looked amazing in her black, floor-length gown with the use of sexy cutouts with sheer paneling. Not only did the cutouts flatter and accentuate her shape, but they were done tastefully, without being too risque. Bikinis are the same way. Summer is fast approaching- which is one of the reasons we loved Renee Bargh’s bright summer hue on her dress. Other great summer-y options include Call On Me, which features tons of bright colors in a fun chevron pattern, as well as Melt Away, whose bright coral and turquoise colors get you in a playful mood for the season!

Other great starlets who displayed great style include Selena Gomez, Jennifer Morrison (who also rocked a sexy black dress with sheer paneling), and Jennifer Lopez. We can’t wait for the next red carpet!
