Theme Thursday: Black in Action

Black is a happy color!

We’ve all heard the saying “I’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color”. However, in the meantime the color black is all we’ve got. Everybody knows that the color black is slimming, sophisticated, and most importantly sexy.  That’s why Lady Lux has a collection of luxury swimwear in black that will surely spice up your summer. Even though summertime is associated with bright and vibrant colors, black belongs to every season! So throw on your sexy black designer swimwear and head to the nearest beach!

Black bikinis are HOT!

If you don’t have a sexy black Lady Lux bikini in your swimsuit drawer, you need to get one. The Turn Me On Black Bikini is a knockout! This triangle top bikini is accented with gold tube detail. The gold tubes match brilliantly with the Paige Feather Bracelet, which has a hint of black. This bracelet will add a bohemian flare to your look.

Black monokinis are the perfect way to spice up your collection!

Another favorite of mine is the Pretty Women Black Monokini. This V-neck plunge one piece is accented with rhinestone rings at the neck and hips. You can glam up your style with the Jeni Chevron gold bangle! Together, you will look seductively gorgeous! This look is perfect for basking in the sun on the beach, or partying by the pool in Vegas.

A black bandeau bikini is perfect for relaxing by the pool!

If you prefer bandeau bikini tops, look no further. The Gold Digger black bandeau top is perfect for you! The bandeau pieces are connected with gold hardware at the bust. Pair this suit with the Marilyn Black Beach hat and you’re good to go! This suit is ideal for tanning, or relaxing in a cabana. Whatever style you chose, remember ladies, black will never go out of style.

Jennifer Lawrence Pulls Off Spring’s Hottest Hues

Jennifer Lawrence has gone from an up-and-coming teen star to a full-fledged Hollywood A-Lister seemingly overnight. Her style choices are often fairly safe, but elegantly classic. She chooses classic silhouettes that flatter her curves and shape to perfection. While not all of us may be able to pull off some of the silhouettes she’s so often seen in (i.e. the Dior stunner from the Oscar’s), it definitely is possible to take inspiration from her color choices.

Bright teal is one of our favorite colors for the season. The Paradise bandeau is not only similar to the teal dress Jennifer was spotted in, but the slight shimmer in the fabric adds an extra touch of glamour. Add in the aqua jewelry at the center as well as each hip and the swimsuit screams luxury swimwear. The color is also fairly easy to pull off for a few different skin tones. If you haven’t quite gotten the tan you’ve been hoping for yet, the color isn’t so bright that it washes you out. If you’re lucky enough to sport a beautiful golden tan, the bright color bounces off the tan and really pops.

While black may not be a “bright hue”, it’s a popular color choice for designer swimwear lovers across the board. It also (believe it or not) is a hard color to pull off while still managing to stand out. Jennifer Lawrence shows us a great way to wear the color- with some perfectly placed cutouts. The cutouts keep the color youthful and will ensure that you still stand out at the pool or beach. Sexy monokinis like Love Bound are a great option when trying to achieve that cutout effect. Otherwise, you could go for a sexy basic black bikini such as Truly, Madly, Deeply with extra detail like the gold hardware on the straps.

Jennifer Lawrence is definitely a fan of the basics- white and black. She definitely pulls those shades off with grace and class, but we also love it when she’s spotted in brighter hues. For this photo shoot, she paired a royal purple top with a burnt orange pencil skirt- a risky combination that really stood out. The color of her top is a showstopper, similar to Unforgettable. To achieve Jennifer’s look, pair the purple suit with some orange jewelry and accessories. A good tip- when looking to accessorize with opposite colors than what you’re wearing, shoot for complimentary colors (or colors opposite from one another on the color wheel) and then go one or two shades to the right or left to avoid looking like a school mascot (who often choose complimentary colors).
