Countdown to Coachella: Part II

If you were lucky enough to attend the first weekend of Coachella- perhaps you can already expect certain things for weekend 2. If you missed the first weekend, but plan on attending the second (and final) weekend- never fear! We have everything you’ll need to know for surviving a whole weekend in the desert.

One of the most crucial things to start thinking about now (if you haven’t already started) is what you’re going to wear. Coachella is one of the biggest weekend of the year for style blogs around the world. Celebrities are all over the place and they usually have their outfits styled perfectly for the weekend. Occasionally, however, they slip up. When planning your outfits, keep in mind that it’s not only hot, but dirty. While a white dress may look cute when you put it on in the morning, it may not look that way by midnight.

By using your luxury swimwear effectively, you can stay fashionable and cool while partying under the desert sun. Bandeau’s are definitely in fashion now, allow you to stay cool, and even keep you prepared just in-case there’s an impromptu pool party you happen to be invited to. Lady Lux has a lot of great bandeau styles such as Floral Fantasy or Paradise. Throw them on with some trendy high-waisted shorts and you’re ready for the day! At the very least, by layering a sexy monokini or bikini top under a sheer shirt or dress, you reveal just enough to be sexy, while still staying a bit modest.

Once you’ve packed your designer swimwear, make sure to remember a few key other items to pack. Most importantly, pack lots of water. You’re going to be in the hot desert sun- meaning it’s easy to get dehydrated. Water keeps your skin glowing and healthy- making your Lady Lux swimwear look even better. Going hand in hand with water, pack plenty of sunscreen. Not only would a painful sunburn totally ruin your weekend, but sunscreen also keeps your skin youthful and healthy. Other key items to remember? Sunglasses, comfortable shoes, a camera, and a sweater. Believe it or not, it actually gets chilly at night in the desert.

Once you’ve packed the essentials- you should be ready to rock! Tomorrow starts the final weekend of Coachella for 2013, so enjoy it!

Coachella Weekend 1: Celebrity Style Watch

The first weekend of Coachella has already come and gone… With rocking performances from artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vampire Weekend, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, and Modest Mouse- it was definitely a weekend to remember. While you were dancing to some of your favorite musicians, you may have noticed a celebrity (or two) standing a few feet away. Coachella draws all types of celebrities- whether it’s actors, other musicians, or models, out to the blistering sun of the desert. Here at Lady Lux, we love paying attention to what all the celebrities wear while at Coachella. These celebrities tend to ditch their designer handbags and blowouts for a more bohemian and indie look. We’ve put together some of our favorite looks from the first weekend of Coachella.

Just because you’re in the desert doesn’t mean you can’t wear your designer swimwear. In fact, what better place to wear a bikini?! These must have been some of Alessandra Ambrosio’s exact thoughts, because we caught her wearing a white bikini underneath some of her clothing while at Coachella. We love how every year, Alessandra manages to maintain a casual look- without losing feminine touches, such as her breezy skirt. We found a similar look with pieces from Forever 21, Steve Madden, and American Eagle. Most importantly, we felt our Truly, Madly, Deeply bikini in white would work great underneath the denim button-down (left unbuttoned- of course) from American Eagle. Our favorite detail? The pop of red from the purse! It brings out the red in the skirt and also is a great statement piece!

If you’re looking for a way to transform your luxury swimwear into something a little edgier, try going for a look such as Sophia Bush’s. What drew us to this look were the thigh-high slits in the maxi skirt- adding a sexy touch to this tougher look. We found a similar patterned skirt at Brandy Melville. Rather than pairing the skirt with a solid black bikini top, we figured the slight pattern on the She’s Got A Way bikini top from Lady Lux complimented the pattern in the skirt. Besides, pattern-mixing is a great trend right off of the spring runways! The hardware in the She’s Got A Way top also works great with the look- coordinating perfectly with the black and gold necklace from Forever 21.

Here are just a few other of our favorite looks from Weekend 1- hopefully sparking some inspiration for you for Weekend 2! We can’t wait to see what Coachella part 2 has to offer and what celebs will be making an appearance!

Coachella Packing Essentials

Coachella is quickly approaching, and we’ve got your packing list right here! What better way to complete your look than with some designer swimwear by Lady Lux?! In this post we’ll show you how to style your favorite Lady Lux swimsuits into your Coachella look!

Our fist look is definitely one of our more feminine looks for the festival. We love this Cream drop-waist dress from River Island to layer over your Still The One bikini from Lady Lux. The sheer fabric is sexy- in that it reveals just a tiny pop of color from your Still The One bikini. Since this is the more feminine look, we figured the girl who wears this wouldn’t like to get too dirty… Boots keep your feet clean (as opposed to sandals) while you’re rockin’ out in the dusty, dirty desert. These brown boots from Aldo are perfect. Now, throw on a cute flower headband from Forever 21 to feel the flower power and some other cute accessories and you’re ready for the desert! Just don’t forget your sunglasses!

For those of you who aren’t quite ready to sport a dress in the desert, shorts are another option that can be styled equally as cute! This embroidered shrug from River Island immediately caught our eye. It’s a great way to add a little sparkle to your look without going full-on glam. By leaving it open, you can show off your Call On Me bikini by Lady Lux. This bikini has so many fun colors in it to brighten up the look! Between the shrug and the bikini, your bottoms can be basic. These vintage hot-pants from TopShop are perfect. Make sure your legs are looking sexy (you’re still a Lady Lux girl, after all) with some sky-high wedges from Aldo. The pop of color is great to break up all of your neutrals. Again, layer on some accessories and you’re ready to rock!

We hope these give you some ideas and at the very least spark your creativity to create your own looks! It can get hot in the desert, so make sure to pack your Lady Lux! You never know when you’ll need to cool off in our luxury swimwear!
