Floral prints are essential this spring season.  I know I love our Strawberry Shortcake floral triangle top bikini and if it’s your style then you will too! The pink scallop lace is the perfect addition to this ultra feminine suit.  Selena Gomez is the perfect example of a celeb that can totally rock prints! Speaking of floral, head wreaths are a cute fashion statement this season!  Spring is all about flowers, so why not accessorize with them? I think flower head wreaths are such a cute accessory that looks great with a designer swimwear suit this spring! Try curling your hair and then adding a flower wreath instead of a headband.

The difficulty with accessorizing your luxury swimwear suit is that you don’t want to overdo it. Bangles and bracelets are the perfect way to accessorize, while still keeping that effortlessly sexy look.  Mix and match bangles in various shapes and colors. You can even wear colors that match perfectly with your suit! Have fun with it!

Miami Swim Show Trend Report

The talk of the industry this time of year is centered around one thing- the annual Miami Swim Show. A fashion trade show for everything related to swimwear, beaches, pools, and everything that falls in between those categories. It’s always fun to see what new styles luxury swimwear companies like Lady Lux come out with, but we like to predict ahead of time what we will see at the show starting Saturday, and what will make a presence at the end of the year as well as for 2014…

Youthful, bright prints have definitely started to make their mark for the summer of 2013, but we don’t see an end to this trend. Specifically speaking, striped patterns such as chevron really took off- and we’re pretty sure they’ll be sticking around for the 2014 collections due to their overwhelming popularity. In both the Call On Me as well as Crazy For You bikinis, the chevron prints have been kicked up a notch with trendy, bright colors like purple and aqua. Similarly, Ready Or Naut features a youthful striped print. With nautical inspiration, this suit was a huge hit around national holidays such as Memorial Day and Fourth of July. Is it possible nautical striped suits will be even bigger in 2014? We definitely think so!

Running along the same concept as the colorful striped prints, powerful florals also took off in late spring/early summer of this year. The ever-feminine print took a unique twist when paired with black, like in More Than A Feeling. The print turned out to be one of our best sellers! It’ll be interesting to see what other colored florals will be huge for 2014, as we’re sure this popular style print is here to stay. Other favorites from 2013 include Floral Fantasy and Secret Escape.

Last (but definitely not least), we think sexy cutout monokinis are going to be HUGE again for 2014. This style swimwear took off in 2013 with the introduction of super-sexy cuts like the Sipping Pretty monokini, one of our best selling suits. Customers seemed to like the variation of not only cuts, but colors, such as the Heaven Can’t Wait monokini, also one of our best-sellers. With options like these, the Drive Me Wild monokini, and many more- we’re sure we’ll be seeing more sexy monokinis for 2014 all around, and we can’t wait to see what fun cuts and colors will be available!

What designer swimwear trends were your favorite for 2013? What trends do you look forward to hopefully seeing for 2014? We hope you’re as excited as we are for the new year and new swimwear!

Jennifer Lawrence Pulls Off Spring’s Hottest Hues

Jennifer Lawrence has gone from an up-and-coming teen star to a full-fledged Hollywood A-Lister seemingly overnight. Her style choices are often fairly safe, but elegantly classic. She chooses classic silhouettes that flatter her curves and shape to perfection. While not all of us may be able to pull off some of the silhouettes she’s so often seen in (i.e. the Dior stunner from the Oscar’s), it definitely is possible to take inspiration from her color choices.

Bright teal is one of our favorite colors for the season. The Paradise bandeau is not only similar to the teal dress Jennifer was spotted in, but the slight shimmer in the fabric adds an extra touch of glamour. Add in the aqua jewelry at the center as well as each hip and the swimsuit screams luxury swimwear. The color is also fairly easy to pull off for a few different skin tones. If you haven’t quite gotten the tan you’ve been hoping for yet, the color isn’t so bright that it washes you out. If you’re lucky enough to sport a beautiful golden tan, the bright color bounces off the tan and really pops.

While black may not be a “bright hue”, it’s a popular color choice for designer swimwear lovers across the board. It also (believe it or not) is a hard color to pull off while still managing to stand out. Jennifer Lawrence shows us a great way to wear the color- with some perfectly placed cutouts. The cutouts keep the color youthful and will ensure that you still stand out at the pool or beach. Sexy monokinis like Love Bound are a great option when trying to achieve that cutout effect. Otherwise, you could go for a sexy basic black bikini such as Truly, Madly, Deeply with extra detail like the gold hardware on the straps.

Jennifer Lawrence is definitely a fan of the basics- white and black. She definitely pulls those shades off with grace and class, but we also love it when she’s spotted in brighter hues. For this photo shoot, she paired a royal purple top with a burnt orange pencil skirt- a risky combination that really stood out. The color of her top is a showstopper, similar to Unforgettable. To achieve Jennifer’s look, pair the purple suit with some orange jewelry and accessories. A good tip- when looking to accessorize with opposite colors than what you’re wearing, shoot for complimentary colors (or colors opposite from one another on the color wheel) and then go one or two shades to the right or left to avoid looking like a school mascot (who often choose complimentary colors).

Selena Gomez Nails Spring’s Hottest Patterns

Selena Gomez is, no doubt, an up-and-coming Hollywood A-Lister. She began her career with Disney Channel, which sky-rocketed the young starlet to fame, but has continued to stay on the entertainment scene even after her career with Disney has come to a close. She’s recently blossomed into a style icon as well, and here at Lady Lux- we’re loving it. While she’s often pictured in sexy luxury swimwear, we figured we would feature some of our favorite patterns she’s been spotted in. Then, we’ll show you how to get Selena’s look using your own designer swimwear.

Selena’s first look features one of our favorite patterns for spring- floral. While Selena’s floral pattern features a lot of oranges and greens, Lady Lux wanted to brighten up the look with bright pinks and aqua- which screams springtime to us. The Secret Escape Dress has a similar breezy, casual look that Selena’s dress has. If you’re just looking for a standard swimsuit, however, you can opt for either the Floral Fantasy bandeau or the Secret Escape bikini- both of which feature the same lively pattern as the Secret Escape Dress. Overall, Selena’s look is kept minimal, with light makeup and swept back hair. Accessorize with beachy wedge sandals like Selena’s and throw on a sexy long necklace too. If you’re feeling daring- try a body chain for a similar, even sexier option instead of the long necklace!

The second look of Selena’s is definitely more of a sexy, nightclub ensemble. The sexy bustier top is completed with a black skirt with a thigh-high slit. For a similar sexy graphic pattern and cut- try the She’s Got A Way bikini. The sexy pattern is completed with gold hardware, which is reminiscent of the gold stitching in Selena’s bustier. The pattern also comes in a monokini- Love Bound. To complete your look, layer on a maxi skirt similar to Selena’s for walking around poolside. Dramatic eye makeup and bedhead waves will finish off the sexy, nightlife look.

Jennifer Lopez Nails it in Black, Pink, and Stripes

Jennifer Lopez has been on the pop culture scene for many years now. From her days as a dancer on “In Living Color”, to her early days as a pop star, to breaking into Hollywood as a leading actress in films such as “Maid in Manhattan” and “The Wedding Planner”, to now headlining world tours and starring as a judge on American Idol- there seems to be nothing slowing her down. Her style is ever-evolving and here at Lady Lux, we are loving witnessing the star’s style transformation. It has evolved from “girl from the Bronx” street style to true Hollywood icon glam. We love taking tips from Jennifer’s sense of style when completing our designer swimwear looks- so here are a few of our favorites.

Although basic, there’s a reason black is considered a staple in every wardrobe. Black is a classic color that does wonders for almost any body type, skin color, or hair color. The black dress that Jennifer recently wore to the Grammy’s was just that. A simple black color- amped up with sex appeal, much like the Truly, Madly, Deeply bikini by Lady Lux. The overall silhouette of Jennifer’s dress is so simple and so classic, but the sky-high slit adds a sexy edge to the cut. Truly, Madly, Deeply is a classic bikini, but the hardware and luxurious materials make the suit sexy and glam.

This pink look of Jennifer’s follows the same principles of her black dress above, yet turns it up a notch with the stunning pink color. Overall, the dress is classically cut, much like the Melt Away bikini. The bright pink color is eye-catching and adds both youthful and fun elements to the bikini as well as the dress. We also love how Jennifer kept her entire look simple by brushing her hair back from her face in a sleek ponytail. A great idea for the pool- when lounging in the hot sun in your luxury swimwear!

The last look of Jennifer’s that we loved was definitely more casual than the previous two looks. This striped dress of hers is, again, a classic look. The angled stripes are very reminiscent of the Ready Or Naut bikini. Stripes can be a difficult pattern to conquer, but by throwing them on at an angle- you’ll actually be doing yourself and your body a favor. The stripes on Ready Or Not actually bring the eye in to the cute little bow at the center. With stripes- follow Jennifer’s lead by keeping the rest of your look simple and toned down. You don’t want to compete with your cute striped bikini!
