Is it just us or are the Oscars making LA shine a little bit brighter this year? Lady Lux couldn’t be more excited for Sunday, in part because of all the glamorous red carpet fashion. Be sure and follow Lad Lux Swimwear on Tumblr and Twitter for fashion and Oscars updates. So many glamorous red carpet silhouettes have inspired our 2015 collection; so we couldn’t be more eager for this award show and all the celebrity fashion.
The Red Carpet Glamour
Lady Lux is so anxious to see what Hollywood’s brightest stars will be wearing on Sunday evening. We predict there will be elegant, lady like silhouettes that are sexy and sophisticated. This spring’s red carpet trends (thus far) are bringing out celebrities in more toned down, super lux looks. In general, every celebrity has just looked amazing and so well styled at past awards shows this year (although we didn’t quite get RiRi’s pink dress at the Grammys). We love this slight change in pace to simpler styles, because usually celebs try to go all out in wild patterns, and crazy colors. Lady Lux loves sophisticated style and many of our 2015 designer swimwear pieces have this same luxurious, clean style with immaculate attention to detail. We like this kind of “back to the basics” trend that seems to be going through LA.
Best Picture: American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Selma, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash
Lady Lux loves these nominees: these films are so powerful and all very different. Our top three favorites are Birdman, Selma and The Imitation Game. Also, can we just say that Emma Stone did an amazing job in Birdman?
Best Actress: Marion Cotillard, Two Days, One Night; Felicity Jones, The Theory of Everything; Julianne Moore, Still Alice; Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl; Reese Witherspoon, Wild
Lady Lux loves Reese Witherspoon and she gets our vote for this category! She’s an amazing actress, a caring philanthropist, a loving mommy and she always looks so chic. Lady Lux secretly loved Rosamund Pike’s character in Gone Girl. We love powerful, smart women who stand up for themselves. This lady went off the deep end obviously, but this movie is a good warning to men everywhere.

Past Oscar Fashion
Since the Oscars was established in 1953, we have seen style icons over the years step out in the most chic, unique and stunning dresses ever made. Speaking of style icons, Audrey Hepburn’s lace Oscar gown she wore in 1954 is worth 70,000-90,000 dollars now. That dress designed by Edith Head was inspired by Audrey’s dress in Roman Holiday and Audrey’s timeless style has come full circle: bold eyebrows and elegant lace is so in style right now! One of Lady Lux’s favorite celebrities to watch on the Oscars red carpet is Angeline Jolie. She always steps out in the most elegant, sophisticated dresses and is definitely a modern day style icon. Lady Lux can’t wait to see what stars step out in on Sunday evening.
